LARGE CAST IRON URN ON BASE BY KRAMER

Description:
A very substantial and impressive early 20th century cast iron garden urn on matching base by the Kramer Brothers Foundry of Dayton, Ohio. With stylized lion head handles, the large circular bowl is decorated with raised foliate scrolls, and the matching pedestal base is stamped at the bottom: "MFG by The Kramer Bros... FDY Co Dayton Ohio". Recently re-painted, and ready to be the focal point of your garden. Circa: 1910-1920 Founded in 1893 by George H., Henry and Joseph Kramer, the Kramer Brothers foundry initially produced utilitarian wares, such as sewer pipe, heating stoves, and finishing tools for the work trade. In the early 20th century the firm expanded into garden ornament but ceased production in the late 1950's.
