French Petrin Description: Exceptionally large early 19th century French petrin (dough box) from near Lyon. Of walnut construction, with a very lovely patina, and pine as asecondary wood.  The loose lid top sits on slanted sides of the dovetailed box which is supported by a base with scalloped apron, and one large over three smaller drawers. Circa: 1840 Condition: Some shrinkage to top boards and small areas of old wood filler to boards on the top, wear to inside of drawers.
