19TH CENTURY FIGURE "ALLEGORY OF SUMMER" Description: A fine 19th century figure of a young man in classical dress shown holding a sickle close to his side, and a rake in his opposing hand, his gaze fixed in the distance. Circa: 1865-1875 After the original design by Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912) the figure is referred to as "Allegory of Summer". It is attributed to the renown Val D'Osne foundry which was established by Jean Pierre Andre Victor in 1835.
