VENUS DE MILO Description: A beautifully executed life size cast stone figure of the Venus de Milo. Well modeled and proportioned and featuring her classic serene expression. The original, thought to represent Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was carved in approximately 150 BC and discovered in the Agean islands in 1820. It was presented to King Louis XVIII who subsequently donated it to the Louvre Museum where it remains to this day.
