Very Early French Carved Stone Planter Description: From the Provencal city of Nimes, France this handsome carved stone planter would make a wonderful focal point in any garden setting. Standing approximately 37" in height it is entirely hand carved with a circular egg and dart banding below the substantial rim. The scrolled handles on each side are embellished with acanthus leaves. 17th century possibly earlier.
