Matched pair of mid-19th century cast iron benches with foliate cresting, horseshoe form trellis backs, graceful cabriole legs and scrolled seats, all with much evidence of early paint.
One of the earliest forms of American cast iron garden seating this pattern was produced by several foundries. A similar pair is in the White House rose garden, and the form is often referred to as the Rose Garden pattern
